16 Days and Counting

Rehearsals with our main puppeteer, Matt Carter, are underway and the stage is built, waiting to be painted and propped. (Baby Ornery helped with the build!)

Audio and video recording has completed and our wonderful sound and film directors, Chris Bakos and Stephanie Saint Sanchez, are busily editing and preparing for our first technical rehearsals. Next week we add in our secondary puppeteers, Shanon Adams and Sarah Miller! Shanon is a very gifted dancer, her movement expertise lends itself to puppetry, which is essentially a movement-based theatre form.

The pieces are all coming together!

I think this show is going to be something very special. We have such a unique blend of talented individuals with varied backgrounds, all of whom lend an interesting flavor to the final product. Fortunately, most of the team are seasoned performers and designers; they have kept the project moving when we have hit unexpected snags or stumbling blocks. I have never been more excited to see the culmination of a process. I know it’s going to be great and I can’t wait to see it on stage.

And I can’t wait for you to see it!

Tickets are available at the door, $10-general admision, $5-students with ID. We will be equipped to take cash or cards at the door, no pre-sale tickets. Each show starts at 8:00pm, but I recommend you get there early as seating is limited…it’s at 14 Pews which, literally, has 14 pews in which to sit. The space is beautiful and full of history and ambiance, I think you’ll like it if you’ve never experienced it.

14 Pews is at 800 Aurora Street in the Heights, it was formerly the space for the Aurora Picture Show. (Oh yeah, NOW you know where it is!)

So that’s where we are right now. On a precipice, about to leap to our glory and/or doom. How exciting!

Love,

Kelly
